This area saw some of the heaviest conflict during the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) insurgency - these eyes would have seen a lot of conflict. I was there in the lead up to the National elections and the local authorities were on high alert due to a number of political assasinations. I was arrested, for some imagined infraction, not long after I took this image.
